Vietnamese officials, who visited Riverside for this occasion, said that the number nine is a lucky number in their culture, and they pointed out how Can Tho who is 8,279 miles away from Riverside became the ninth sister city of Riverside and had its signpost together with all the other cities at Ninth Street downtown.

In The Heights (Musical at Riverside City College)

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in Washington Heights neighborhood - a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. It's the winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
